2010 Fall/Winter Recreation Guide Now Available: Low-Cost Enrichment, Sports and Art Courses for All Ages in the Santa Maria Valley

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department’s 2010 Fall/Winter Recreation Guide is now available to both residents and non-residents of the Santa Maria Valley.  The guide was mailed to all residents of the Santa Maria Valley in August and is also available at the Recreation and Parks office, 615 South McClelland Street in Santa Maria.  The full class, program and event listings may also be found online at http://www.ci.santa-maria.ca.us/RecGuide.shtml.

The 2009 Fall/Winter Recreation Guide includes programs and classes for active older adults, aquatics, adult arts, Special Olympics, dance classes, exercise & fitness, special interests/hobbies, youth programs, teen programs, youth & teen sports and adult sports.

Community events such as “Take Me Fishing,” and the annual Special Olympics Crab Feed are also advertised.  Community programs such as Adopt-A-Park and PAL (Police Activities League) are also highlighted in the guide.

The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is offering a diverse range of courses this 2010 Fall/Winter and urges residents to expand their education by taking a course.  A new youth soccer camp, WII for seniors, swimming lessons, youth and adult pottery and numerous adult sports classes are being offered.
