The Town Center Gallery enjoyed hosting your Santa Maria Chamber Mixer for over 100 people in August. The exciting event featured door prizes from 25 business and 6 artists, a silent auction, and an art hunt as well delicious barbeque and wine tasting. We hope that many of our chamber friends will return to the gallery for our new Featured Artist Show and Small Treasures Show along with a new exhibit of gallery artists. Please join us October 22nd, from 5:30 to 7 PM to meet the artists, view the art, and enjoy refreshments. The Featured artist, Franzceska Angel, will display illustrations she recently completed for Emarald City, a novel. Franzceska teaches art for Allan Hancock College and the Town Center Gallery The Small Treasures Show consists of 52 pieces of art no larger than 12”x12”, reasonably priced for holiday gifting. Also on display are new 2- and 3-dimensional works by more than 30 talented local artists. If you are unable to get to the reception, the exhibit will continue until December 10th. As well as displaying art, the gallery has an active program of art classes for adults and children. Art classes for adults include watercolor painting, pastel drawing, and unique arts and crafts. Children’s classes in painting and drawing are held during the week, with Saturday classes in watercolor, silk painting, cartoon drawing, crafts, and collage.
