The Fall season is fast approaching and along with it comes Santa Maria’s annual tribute to arts and grape harvest! Celebrating its 27th year, the Autumn Arts Grapes and Grains Festival is once again offering a fun-filled community festival on Saturday, October 2, 2010, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Civic Center-McClelland Street Corridor (by the Public Library)!
The Recreation and Parks Department in partnership with the Santa Maria Noontime Kiwanis, People for Leisure And Youth, Inc. (P.L.A.Y., Inc.), and the community’s arts groups (to include the Santa Maria Arts Council, Santa Maria Town Center Gallery and Los Padres Artist Guild) are hosting the annual family-friendly street festival. Admission to this event is free and offers something for everyone. Wholesome family fun merged with sophisticated arts activities are sure to keep everyone entertained.
Local artists will be exhibiting their fine art, photography, and crafts and live arts demonstrations will be staged throughout the day. Additionally there will be youth/teen activities including a chalk art expose and much more. This year’s event will also feature a car show, live entertainment, kids rides, and delicious food.
The wine and beer tasting will also take place from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Tasting tickets can be purchased for $20.00 per person pre-sale or 10 for $150.00 at the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks office, VTC Enterprises, and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce.
