The Santa Maria Branch of American Association of University Women will present a program on today’s Ireland on Saturday, January 22,  from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Rooney’s Irish Pub in Old Orcutt.  Shay and Norma Leahy, tour operators in Ireland and Northern Ireland, will discuss the the real life experiences of the Irish as they deal with the enormous changes their country has endured in a relatively short time.  The Leahys have first hand knowledge of the life in Ireland and  of the impact of economic growth, deflation, membership in the EU, and the surge of immigration have had on the country.
