Allan Hancock College spring 2011 classes offer a variety of scheduling options for busy students.  Online classes offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate work, family and/or transportation constraints.  Weekend classes are an attractive option for many working students.  Fast Track classes offer students instruction in eight weeks or less; many classes last only one or two days, and more than 20 are offered online.  They are popular with individuals who want or need to complete classes at a faster rate.

Next spring, 168 classes are being offered online; 43 are being offered Friday, Saturday and/or Sunday; and more than 100 Fast Track classes are being offered.

Online classes include accounting, business, culinary arts, economics, desktop publishing, chemistry, electronics, English, nutrition, fire technology, history, Italian, math, government, psychology, winemaking and more.  Weekend classes include biology, business, ceramics and winemaking, Fast Track course offerings range from art and dance to business, early childhood studies, biology, lean manufacturing, environmental technology and more.

Internet classes offer students the flexibility of completing courses at home or on campus computers at their convenience.  They continue to be the fastest growing group of classes at Allan Hancock College.

Most online classes require an orientation session prior to the start of classes.  Orientation details are available via Class Search by clicking the class CRN.

Semester-length classes begin the week of January 24.

Three dozen of the Fast Track classes are eight-week (Term 3) classes that begin

Jan. 24.  The rest are classes lasting less than eight weeks, and they begin at different times throughout the semester.

Students can register for spring classes online now at  Log on to myHancock, click the “Student” tab, then “Register/Add/Drop/Search Classes.”  For Fast Track classes beginning after January 28, students can register online up to the first day of class, space permitting.

All new students and students without a user name and password must first apply to the college before registering for classes.  Access the online admission application by clicking the link under “Apply Spring 2011” on the home page.

The enrollment fee for California residents is $26 per unit, meaning a typical three-unit class costs $78.  Other minimal fees apply.
