A great tradition returns to Santa Maria this year as Community Bank of Santa Maria partners with Elk’s Recreation to bring back the Rodeo Window Painting and High School Art Competition.

Years ago it was annual custom for dozens of businesses in Santa Maria to have their windows painted with designs that celebrated the Elks Rodeo.  For 2011 all Santa Maria High Schools have enthusiastically signed on to bring back this vibrant show of community pride.

Art students from the schools will paint the windows and compete for awards.  Participating art departments will receive a donation to their art programs and the winning student will receive a $500 savings bond.  Santa Maria businesses that sign up to participate will receive free window painting.

Community Bank of Santa Maria’s commitment to reviving this event is part of the bank’s 10-year Anniversary “Celebration of Community”.  Businesses interested in participating should contact Miken Marquez or Janet Silveria at Community Bank of Santa Maria at 922-2900.

The 2011 Elks Rodeo will be held the first weekend in June at the Elks-Unocal Event Center in Santa Maria.
