It is a bittersweet goodbye that we offer to Barbara O’Malley, who retired from the Chamber of Commerce on June 14. Barbara was employed with the Chamber for over 15 years. Starting out in the capacity of bookkeeper, Barbara was hired on when an overhaul was badly needed in the finance department. Her expertise and clarity in defining what needed to be done to get things back on track, immediately made her an invaluable resource to the Chamber.
In 2008, Barbara was promoted to Vice President of Operations and with that came all the responsibilities and perks of being second-in-command to our President and CEO, Bob Hatch.
On behalf of the staff and volunteers at the Chamber of Commerce, we bid a fond farewell to Barbara with best wishes for her retirement and much happiness in the years ahead!
We offer a hearty welcome to the Chamber’s newest employee, Terri Oneschuck! In May, Terri was hired as the Finance Manager for the Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce and Visitor and Convention Bureau. Terri is responsible for all accounting and business management.
She graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Pepperdine University. In 1988 she opened Evergreen Business Services, in Nipomo, and did bookkeeping and payroll services for non-profit, retail and service businesses throughout the Central Coast.
Most recently Terri worked in San Luis Obispo for Transitions-Mental Health Association in their Supported Employment Program. She designed curriculum and oversaw the instruction of clients learning computer skills to obtain competitive employment.
