For the 2nd year, the Santa Maria Noontime Kiwanis invites local guys and dolls to a top secret “Speakeasy” event that includes dinner, dancing, and mock gambling as a night on the town to benefit the Kiwanis and their efforts to raise money for local youth organizations and scholarships.  Whisper the password “cupcake” at the door of the Veterans Memorial Building in Santa Maria on Friday, August 12 and be whisked back in time to a night of fun, food, and good times knowing that your “secret” dalliances will support a worthy cause.  Attendees at this unique event will enjoy great food, a full bar, mock gambling with funny money, dance lessons to music from the 20’s and 30’s and a chance to compete for great silent auction prizes.

Dressing in period costume is encouraged.  In addition to all the fun at the Speakeasy, benefit drawing tickets are being sold for $200.00 and the winning ticket will be selected at the event.  The holder of the winning ticket may win up to $5000.00.  Admittance to this event is not a “prohibition” since tickets are only $25.00 per person.  Anyone making the donation for a benefit drawing ticket automatically gets two passes to the Speakeasy event.  Tickets for this great event, or for the benefit drawing, can be purchased by visiting the Kiwanis website at www.santamariakiwanis.org, by visiting Company’s Coming in Orcutt, or by purchasing tickets at the door.  Corporate sponsorships are still available and provide a wonderful marketing opportunity and way to support the youth of our community.  For sponsorship information contact Janet Silveria at jsilveria@yourcbsm.com or by calling 922-2900.
