The Santa Maria Valley Industry Education Council and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce Visitors and Convention Bureau are proud to sponsor this year’s Business Appreciation luncheon. This year’s theme reflects the support given to our schools by the many local businesses who contribute so much to encourage student achievement and success. All these companies, large and small, demonstrate that education is a high priority, and one that they hold close in their hearts.
The event will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 14 at the Elks Lodge. It is an opportunity for educators to express their heartfelt appreciation to the business community for their commitment and efforts to improve education.
Companies, nonprofit agencies and individuals provide schools with surplus resources, awards and incentives for students plus food for school activities. In addition to those donations, many business leaders share their expertise and donate generous amounts of time by participating in career days and the Principal For a Day program. All these activities help teachers give students the skills needed for future success.
The luncheon will also include the distribution of computers through the Computer Connections program, a joint venture between the Industry Education Council and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce. So far, more than 150 families have received new computer packages through the program for needy children.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate our LOVE for partnerships on September 14!
