Event Description

The Town Center Gallery will be featuring Mel Felix’s photography – Fifteen Years of Fine Art Photography, a Retrospective – during the months of October and November.

Felix’s works include images from his Southwest suite, hand colored black and white photographs, the best from his Tuscany and Spain collections, and Central Coast wine country and still life imagery.

The show will be running from October 12 to December 10, with an artist’s reception on October 28, 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Fun will be served up with light refreshments, wine and punch, music, door prizes and a raffle.

Felix has been an active member of our art community since he moved to Santa Maria seven years ago. He has contributed photographs to the Santa Maria Valley Wine Country Association, the Santa Maria Chamber of Commerce, and is the current Vice President of the Town Center Gallery. His work has been on display at local banks, restaurants, art shows, and wine tasting rooms, including The Historic Santa Maria Inn wine cellar.

Not only does Felix take the photographs, he does his own fine art printing. He say’s that this gives him total control of the final image and he achieves a striking painterly look by printing on canvas.

The Town Center Gallery is a community art gallery, and many of the associated artists’ work will also be on display during this event. The gallery is located in the Town Center West (old Mervyn’s) shopping center, around the corner from Big 5.
