In a lush afternoon suitably entitled, “Love Songs on a Sunday,” Cal Poly Arts presents two up-and-coming vocal stars performing audience favorites from Broadway, operas, and operettas in the uniquely intimate Performing Arts Center Pavilion.

The delightful November 20, 2011 3 p.m. showcase features acclaimed soprano Valerie Vinzant and tenor Hak Soo Kim in a breezy cabaret-style concert, complete with a variety of wines and truffles available for purchase.  (Seating is limited)

Ms. Vinzant has been hailed by critics for her “delectable lyric soprano” and her “pure silk voice.” (Los Angeles Times)

Mr. Kim has been garnering high praise throughout the United States and abroad for his interpretation of the Bel Canto repertoire.

Both performers are recent alumni of the renowned Domingo-Thornton Young Artists Program at the Los Angeles Opera. Created and overseen by Plácido Domingo, the Domingo-Thornton Young Artist Program is one of the world’s foremost training programs for emerging professional opera singers who show promise of achieving international stature.

In solo and duet, they are a perfect duo for an intimate Pavilion performance.
