THE DUNES CENTER, located at 1055 Guadalupe Street in Guadalupe offers many activities, including a variety of docent-led walks. All are free; most are well-suited for family outings or groups. Bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent and a windbreaker. Rain cancels walks. Check out the center’s website www.dunescenter.org for a full list of activities and information on volunteering. The Dunes Center is now open on Thursdays through Sundays from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Snowy Plover Interpretive Trailer, Information booths, Children’s activities, and the Dunes Interpretive Center will be open 10:00 am – 4:00 pm.
The first annual Earth Day Celebration Event at the Dunes Interpretive Center will be held on April 21, 2012 between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm. Join us as we celebrate our efforts to conserve and restore the dunes complex. Local nonprofits from northern Santa Barbara and southern San Luis Obispo counties will be present to share their work and environmentally friendly practices.
The Dunes Center educators will be hosting children’s activities and information on volunteering. The Interpretive Center will be open from 10:00 am- 4:00 pm during the event. The Snowy Plover Interpretive Trailer will also be open between 10:00 am – 3:00 pm with information about the snowy plover life history, habitat, nesting habits and a take home activity for kids.
