Information about the process of becoming a teacher will be presented at Allan Hancock College’s annual “Becoming a Teacher” seminar Tuesday, April 24, 2012.
Sponsored by the Allan Hancock College University Transfer Center and the University of La Verne, this free event is an opportunity for students to learn about what it takes to become a teacher. Steps in the process will be presented, along with credential information, California Basic Education Skills Test (CBEST) information and local options for earning a bachelor’s degree. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with representatives from Cal Poly, Brandman and University of La Verne.
The event will be held from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the Student Center (building G) on the Santa Maria campus. A check-in and reception will begin at 3:30 p.m. with refreshments provided by University of La Verne. The general presentation will begin at 4 p.m. Advance registration is required.
