For those who want to attend college but English is not their first language, help is available to assist them in applying for admission to Allan Hancock College. As a free service to the public, Hancock staff will be at the Atkinson Center Computer Lab at 100 N. Railroad Ave in Santa Maria, on Saturday, May 12, between the hours of 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. to help potential students fill out the college admission application and apply for financial aid. This service is offered free of charge and there is no cost to apply for admission. Staff will be available to assist in either English or Spanish.
Once students have completed their application, they can prepare for the upcoming fall semester by taking the English as a Second Language placement test on Tuesday, May 15, from 5 to 8 p.m. in Building C, room 11 on the college’s Santa Maria campus. The test takes approximately two hours to complete and is also offered free of charge.
