School may be out for summer, but it’s always the right time to Bank On Our Kids

Heritage Oaks Bank is supporting local schools by launching Banking On Our Kids (B.O.O.K.), a new consumer debit card rewards program available beginning July 1, 2012. Every time a B.O.O.K.  VISA® debit card holder uses the card and signs for a purchase, Heritage Oaks Bank will donate $0.05 to the County Office of Education in the customer’s county.

“We are very excited to find a way to support our local schools in these challenging economic times,” said Joseph Stronks, senior operations officer and senior vice president for the bank. “What better way to give a little more funding to our children than by merely using a debit card– something many of us do multiple times a day? This is a great way for anybody and everybody to easily provide additional resources to our schools,” he concluded.

Heritage Oaks Bank partnered with FIS, the world’s largest provider of banking technology, and a leader in loyalty solutions, for this new education-focused debit rewards program. “Debit card rewards programs are designed to create consumer engagement and loyalty. Contributing to local schools is a fantastic reason to choose your Heritage Oaks Bank debit card for every purchase,” stated Bob Legters, senior vice president of FIS Loyalty Services.

Additional information about the B.O.O.K. program is available online at or in any of the bank’s 11 branches.
