So many wonderful community groups, businesses and individuals have helped Santa Maria-Bonita School District students have a variety of experiences, such as field trips, that extend learning outside the classroom. However, an extra special Thank You goes out to all of those who help make the Clarence Minetti Elks Mini Rodeo possible. The Mini Rodeo is the biggest field trip opportunity available to children in the Santa Maria Valley and surrounding areas. Sponsors provide financial support, expert assistance and hundreds of volunteer hours. SMBSD says “thank you” to everyone who has a hand in making the Mini Rodeo a successful event for more than 6,000 students and adults.
First and foremost, the Mini Rodeo would not be possible without the support and backing of Elks Lodge 1538. The lodge and its members are involved with every aspect of the Mini Rodeo, from raising money to preparing the rodeo grounds to staffing the parking lots on rodeo day. The involvement of the Elks Lodge ensures the success of the Mini Rodeo. Thank you, Elks members, for everything that you do to help the Mini Rodeo be the best it can be.
A huge thanks and “Yee-haw” goes to the major sponsors of the Mini Rodeo. Many of them donated money for busing costs, printing the Activity Book, providing the volunteers lunches or funding the event. Other major sponsors donated items such as water and teacher bookbags.
