St. Patrick School accepts $790 donation from local telecom company
The community is invited to enjoy the tastes, sights and sounds of this annual tradition, and as always, the school’s famous oak pit barbecue chicken dinners will be served for dine-in or take-out.
“We hatched the idea to contribute to this event because St. Patrick School is such a pillar in the community,” said Blue Rooster Telecom President Jeff Buckingham. “We’re proud to be able to chip in and give a little back.”
Blue Rooster Telecom made the donation of $790 as part of its Community Partner Program. The program was developed as a way for the company and its employees to contribute to the community, while providing telecommunications services and expertise to the county’s many nonprofit and community organizations.
St. Patrick Catholic School teaches students from preschool to junior high school, and strives to develop each child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical and social potential, thus preparing them to live as morally and globally responsible citizens.
The 50th Annual Barbecue will be packed with fun events from 12 to 5 p.m. for everyone to help raise money to ease school program costs, which keeps tuition affordable for St. Patrick’s families.
Parking and admission are free. Little ones can enjoy a sweet shop, get creative at the craft area, play carnival games and join the kids-only silent auction, where they can enter to win prizes ranging from dolls to bicycles. Adults can bid in a fun silent and live auction, enjoy delicious food and wine, and shop the farmer’s market.
The annual event started back in 1963 as a way to get together as a community and celebrate all that St. Patrick’s has to offer.
