The City of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is hosting a FREE concert! The entire community is invited to come and listen to The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West as they present the Blue Yonders! This family event is offered FREE of charge, for people of all ages and will take place on Wednesday, March 27th, at 7pm in the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center located at 600 S. McClelland Street.

Bring the entire family to enjoy the six-member ensemble, which will be performing traditional Irish and Bluegrass music. This imaginative group of professional Airmen musicians is certain to have the entire family grinnin’ and toe tappin’ as they put their own spin on American classics and modern rock tunes. Audience members will be treated to music by Irish greats such as the Chieftains, Lunasa, and the Pogues interspersed with The Blue Yonders’ renditions of hits by the Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton, U2 and more.

The talented members of The Blue Yonders are proud to represent the more than 325,000 Air Force professionals serving all around the world.  In fall of 2013, the group is scheduled to deploy as part of the U. S. Air Forces Central Band to boost morale of deployed service members and to bolster diplomacy in host nation communities.

The Blue Yonders will be performing three FREE concerts in Central Coast, CA in support of Vandenberg Air Force Base and Air Mobility Command: 27 March, 7 PM, at the Abel Maldonado Community Youth Center, 600 South McClelland Street, Santa Maria CA; 29 March, 6:30 PM, at the Pismo Beach Veteran’s Memorial Hall, 780 Bello Street, Pismo Beach CA; 30 March, 1 PM, at the Solvang Festival Theater, 420 Second Street, Solvang CA.
