The Santa Maria Police Council is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission includes raising monies for equipment and training for the men & women of our City’s Police Department. Funds raised by the SMPC provide our Police Department with the necessary tools and training that adequately prepare them for their positions that are not within our City’s ‘strained’ budget. Over the last 5 years, over $250,000 has been raised for the Santa Maria Police Department. The council has donated funds for items such as “Airsoft” Training Weapons, Badge Patches for the SMPD Explorer Program, Crime Lab Equipment, Gem Cart Batteries & Upgrades, Hobble Restraints, K-9 Unit, K-9 Training, K-9 Training Bite Suit, Night Vision Training, State of the Art Property & Evidence Management System, SWAT Simulation/Specialized Training Weapons, and Tasers for Every Officer.
