The Santa Maria-Bonita School District thanks the businesses, local organizations and people throughout the community that support students and schools in many ways during the year.

Adam School would like to thank Olive Garden in Santa Maria and Leonard Rodriguez, the restaurant’s general manager. Olive Garden hosted a 5th grade field trip with a behind-the-scenes look at the restaurant’s operations, a lesson in filling out job applications, a table manners course, and then salad, bread sticks and spaghetti for all of the students in Ms. McNeil’s class. Thank you, Olive Garden, for being a great community partner.

Fesler Junior High thanks manager Gilberto Tello from Hometown Buffet for donating cookies and certificates for a free meal to all of Fesler’s 8th grade graduates.  The school also sends a huge thank you to Steven Heuring at Vandenberg AFB who donated computers, laptops, keyboards and other technology items to the school.

The organizers of the 3rd annual Math Super Bowl for local elementary schools (including eight schools from SMBSD) wish to thank the sponsors and volunteers who supported the event. The Central Coast Education Collaborative (a section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Oil & Gas Industry) was instrumental in funding this event. Thanks also to Phillips 66 for financial support and to In–N-Out Burger for providing gift certificates to the participating students. The Math Super Bowl could not happen without volunteers. Thank you to volunteers Scott Ballew and Greg Vaughn from Lockheed Martin; Gayle Pratt and her staff from the Central Coast Education Collaborative; Linda Cordero, Board Member from SMBSD; the employees from the technology department at SMBSD and score keeper Peggy Purdue from SMBSD. Thank you all!
