Nonprofit management can be a successful and rewarding career for someone who wants to make a difference in his or her community. To get you there, Allan Hancock College Community Education offers a new class this fall, Intro to Nonprofit Management, to help you develop the skills and strategies you need to become an effective leader in a nonprofit organization.
The class meets Tuesday and Thursday, November 5-21, from 6 to 7:55 p.m. on the Santa Maria campus, Room W-31.
Instructor Phyllis Dodson will help you gain an understanding of the basic elements of nonprofit management, including the role of the executive director and the board of directors, public relations strategies and marketing, human resource management, meeting management and budget development. Dodson holds a Licensed Master of Social Work and is an administrative and social work consultant who specializes in all phases of program development planning, evaluation and staff development.
The fee for the class is $72.
