On October 20, 2013 The Salvation Army hosted a Grand Opening Celebration that included a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony by the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce. The day began with their Dedication Church Service at 11am, a special and elegant Appreciation Appetizer Hour, followed by tours led by their Advisory Board and culminating with a fantastic barbeque in the parking lot with festivities for the children. Even the local Fire Department got involved by placing one of their fire engines in the parking lot for the children to enjoy. Last but not least the Rotary Club improved the playground along with a student artist from Allan Hancock College created a mural for the children’s area. Come take a look at this amazing mural! Come visit the new location and become familiar with the services available to the community.
