Direct from Ireland, the Clark Center for the Performing Arts presents a night of music, song and dance with Celtic Nights – Emigrants Bridge on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at 7:00pm.
Celtic Nights is a unique show featuring the finest voices of the Celtic world showcased against a thundering backdrop of expert step dancing and musicianship.
Drawn from the history and folklore of Ireland and her Celtic cousins, Celtic Nights brings the audience on a stunning musical journey of the emigrating Irish people. Celtic Nights showcases the rich heritage of the island and its culture by capturing the essence of the Irish spirit, passing the mantle of the legacy of their forefathers through music, song, dance and storytelling with pride and passion.
Many of the old favorites – “Danny Boy,” “Isle of Hope” and “Whiskey in the Jar” are featured along with American influenced music such as, “My Love is in America,” “May We Never Have to Say Goodbye” and other Bluegrass, Appalachian and Western songs and ballads. Beautiful imagery and costumes, along with the hypnotic fury of dancing feet enhance the experience.
In Celtic Nights, the audience becomes a part of the story. Songs will be sung, dances will be danced, music will be played and you will be left with a memorable evening of total entertainment, where even those who can’t sing will want to join in!
