Cal Poly Arts presents the national tour of the smash hit Broadway revival of WEST SIDE STORY, coming to the Performing Arts Center on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. in the Cohan Center.
WEST SIDE STORY soars as the greatest love story of all time and remains as powerful, poignant and timely as ever. The Leonard Bernstein/Stephen Sondheim score is considered to be one of Broadway’s finest and features such classics of the American musical theatre as “Something’s Coming,” “Tonight,” “America,” “I Feel Pretty” and “Somewhere.”
Tony Award-winning librettist Arthur Laurents’ Broadway direction and the original Jerome Robbins choreography are re-created for the stellar production.
A free pre-show lecture will be led by Cal Poly Music Dept.’s Jacalyn Kreitzer and held at 6:30 in the Performing Arts Center Pavilion.
Tickets for the performance range from $58 to $88 and may be purchased in advance at the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office, Tuesday – Saturday, noon to 6 p.m, located on Grand Avenue on the Cal Poly campus. The Ticket Office is also open as of noon on all performance days.
