The Santa Maria Valley Historical Society is excited to invite the community to a Chamber of Commerce and Visitor and Convention Bureau Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at 4:00 p.m., to announce their new event; the Antiques, Art and Americana Show. The ribbon cutting will help the organization announce the event, to be held later this year, to the community. The launch event will feature introductions of key participants, and refreshments will be served. The ribbon cutting will take place at the Historical Museum located 616 S. Broadway, next to the Chamber of Commerce.

The new Antiques, Art and Americana Show will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014,10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. at the Historic Santa Maria Inn. General admission is $6.00. Local antique dealers, artists and artisans will be the heart of the show. The event will serve as a fundraiser and awareness builder, as well as a tourist draw for Santa Maria. The show will additionally act as a gateway event to the holiday season.

“We look to make Antiques, Art and Americana an annual event that will grow and attract people from a wide area to Santa Maria. Our hope is that attendees will enjoy an experience that highlights treasures of the past and today under an Americana theme. We look for a great response from the community.”, states event coordinator, Christine Gerber.

The Santa Maria Valley Historical Society exists to preserve, protect and present the history of the Santa Maria Valley to people of today. The museum houses permanent and changing exhibits reflecting the rich heritage and culture of the area. The museum provides research facilities for people interested in exploring the history of the Santa Maria Valley and the people who live here. The museum is located at 616 S.
