Santa Maria Energy, LLC recently made a donation of $5,000 to the Computer Connections program to provide low income students with new computer equipment.  The program is a joint venture between the Santa Maria Valley Industry Education Council (SMVIEC) and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor and Convention Bureau.

David Pratt, president of Santa Maria Energy, LLC said he feels strongly that all students should have access to the tools they need for success in school. The donation was used to purchase 10 laptops and printers for students who do not have computers at their home, and who cannot afford to purchase their own equipment.  Students who qualified for the Computer Connections program were selected by their principals.  The equipment was distributed at several school district board meetings in September that were attended by students, parents, SMVIEC and Chamber representatives as well as Santa Maria Energy representatives.
