On Friday, October 17, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center’s Cohan Center, Cal Poly Arts presents CIRQUE ZUMA ZUMA, a world music and dance event that the entire family will enjoy.

Special Note: As part of the Cal Poly Arts commitment to presenting affordable family events, all child/student tickets are 50% off: $16; full-priced tickets are $32.

Created as an “African circus,” Cirque Zuma Zuma combines the mysticism of Africa with the non-stop excitement of a theatrical cirque performance, showcasing an array of never-before-seen talents mixed with some of the top skills associated with African variety arts. With live music and percussionists, the talented cast dazzles with pole and aerial acts, Egyptian limbo dances, South African gumboot dances, Gabonese tumbling, and South African contortionist feats which will keep the audience breathless.

Many describe this world culture extravaganza as an “African-style Cirque du Soleil,” in large part due to the rigorous standards of the performers  – trained in Kenya and Tanzania – and the dynamic quality of the show.

All tickets may be purchased in advance at the Performing Arts Center Ticket Office, Tuesday – Saturday, noon to 6 p.m, located on Grand Avenue on the Cal Poly campus.
