After nearly 15 years as General Manager of Local Copies Etc., Sandy Stewart is retiring.

Stewart has a long history in Santa Maria. She started working in print in 1991, at a former independent chain store on Betteravia Road. Gradually she moved up the ladder in management, ultimately taking the General Manager position of that ten-unit print shop chain. That chain was sold to a larger firm in 1999.

When Curt Stahl and his business partner founded Local Copies Etc. in 1999, they chose Sandy and her long time Assistant Manager James Jepsen to run their new business venture.

Now Sandy has a new full time occupation, as wife to her spouse of 43 years, and as a grandma to her grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys reading, photography and scrapbooking, among other crafts.

On the subject of her retirement, Stewart says “It’s time to enjoy being a grandma, and to relax and enjoy life with Ed and the grandkids.”
