Fairgoers will get more Money for their dollar at the Santa Barbara County Fair this summer. Fan favorite Eddie Money will perform on Dollar Day at the Santa Barbara County Fair, July 15, 2015 Santa Maria Fairpark officials just announced.
Best known for such hits as “Two Tickets to Paradise,” “Baby Hold On,” “Walk On Water,” “Think I’m In Love,” and “Shakin,” the beloved performer has been making music and entertaining since the mid ‘70s and has made several appearances at the Santa Barbara County Fair.
“Eddie Money is always a crowd-pleaser when he performs at the Santa Barbara County Fair. He draws a big crowd and he really knows how to give the audience what they want: a fun time, high energy, and all the songs they love,” Santa Maria Fairpark CEO Rich Persons said.
Money performs more than 150 shows every year. With such a large number of performances, he’s almost always touring somewhere.
“Touring and writing is my life. It’s who I am and what I do and I don’t see it changing any time in the near future,” Money said. He added that he wouldn’t want it any other way. “Hey, I get to get up every day and do what I love. Why change that?”
Money’s recorded more than a dozen albums of his own, and has done numerous projects in television and film. He was a student of legendary vocal coach Judy Davis and prodigy of manager Bill Graham before the early days of MTV and music videos launched Eddie Money into stardom. An accomplished musician, he sings, writes and plays the saxophone, harmonica and piano. And he puts his heart and soul into his performances because that’s what his fans expect.
“My fans are the best, most loyal fans a guy could ask for. They keep coming back for more and I’m not gonna stop until they make me stop.”
The Santa Barbara County Fair takes place July 15-19. Opening day is Dollar Day with admission and rides costing just $1.
