On Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center, Cal Poly Arts presents trumpeter RYAN ANTHONY and organist GARY BEARD in a sweeping new Forbes Pipe Organ Recital.

“Heavenly sounds…the duo has great onstage chemistry…fluidity and finesse.” – The Memphis Appeal

This organ/trumpet duo will bring a unique and energetic blend of instrumentation to this afternoon organ concert, which will include music by Pachelbel, Mozart, Albinoni, and Faure, plus music by film composer Ennio Morricone, Duke Ellington and George Gershwin.

Ryan Anthony has been dazzling audiences around the globe for well over 15 years, and is known to millions from his work with the legendary Canadian Brass, with whom he continues to perform. After receiving wide acclaim for his unique combination of charisma, music and wit, he is quickly becoming one of America’s most in demand solo trumpet players, traveling the world performing both classical music and crossover jazz.

Gary Beard is Minister of Music/Artist-in-Residence at Lindenwood Christian Church in Memphis, where he has developed a nationally-acclaimed music program. He is conductor of The Lindenwood Chancel Choir and leads The Gary Beard Chorale. In addition to recording 16 releases, he has performed on tour at Carnegie Hall, The Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC, and for standing- room-only audiences in Vienna, Salzburg and Melk, Austria.
