Baseball fans – don’t miss out ono the chance to meet Former MLB second baseman Steve Sax on Saturday, April 25th right here in Santa Maria.

Sax played for the LA Dodgers, the New York Yankees, Chicago White Sox and Oakland Athletics during his career which spanned 1981 to 1994.

From 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Orcutt Youth Softball Complex located at Lakeview Junior High School, 3700 Orcutt Road in Santa Maria. The first 50 youth that RSVP to, Steve will provide one free autograph to the youngster on an item of their choice.  Additional autographs will be made available for a donation of $20 to the Steve Sax Foundation, which is a 501©3 Nonprofit Charitable Organization.

Later, beggining at 2pm he will be at Center Stage at the Santa Maria Fairpark for the Strawberry Festival. The festival is open from 11am-10pm. This is Kid’s day at the festival so youths ages 6-11 get in the event for just $1. (normal cost is $7) General admission is $9, $6 for seniors and children under 5 are free.

At both locations, Mr. Sax will be on hand to take pictures and sign autographs, as well as talk to fans about the Steve Sax Foundation and the Teen Mentoring Program that was launched this past year.  Dedicated to motivating and encouraging American youth through mentoring and life coaching, the organization helps shape the process of building responsible young adults by teaching young men and women how to be hope-filled decision makers. We invite you all to come out and learn about the foundation, the mentoring program, how you can be personally mentored by Steve himself and perhaps enroll in the mentoring program.
