Nagy Wines is celebrating their tenth anniversary this year. As part of the festivities, a ribbon cutting took place on July 23 at the new tasting room in Old Orcutt. It was a wonderful way to kick off their Vintage 2015.
Clarissa Nagy, owner and winemaker made her first commercial release for Nagy Wines in 2005. Nagy moved to the Central Coast to attend Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She began working in the wine industry in 1995. “Santa Maria Valley has truly captured her heart and her palate.” The tasting room opened Fall, 2014. It is open Wednesday through Saturday.
Clarissa pulled out some special library wines for the occasion. Her first commercial release of 2005 Garey Ranch Vineyard Pinot Noir and her 2005 Syrah were paired with cheeses from Central Coast Specialty Foods and bread from Bob’s Well Bread.
The cnagy wine tasting room is located at 145 S. Gray Street Suite 103 in Old Orcutt, just off the corner of Clark and Gray Street. Clarissa specializes in Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Viognier and Syrah from Santa Barbara County. She just released her 2014 Rosé of Pinot Noir.
