SANTA MARIA, CA – MAY 17, 2016— Lexi Brown’s Celebration of Life Memorial will be held
this Saturday, May 21st at the Elks Unocal Event Center at 4:30PM. The Brown family is
extending an invitation to friends, family and anyone who was touched by Lexi’s warm heart and
determination. Gates will open at 4PM with the Celebration to begin at 4:30PM. In continued
support of Lexi’s “Fight Like a Girl” cause, guests are encouraged to wear purple.

Immediately following the Celebration, a dessert reception and tree presentation will take place
for a special sitting garden being dedicated to Lexi Brown. The garden will lovingly be
nicknamed “Lexi’s Lookout,” to signify Lexi’s insatiable quest to always lookout for others even
during her battle with fibroblastic sarcoma.
The garden will be be located on the Elks Unocal Event Center grounds and will serve as a
continued reminder of the support needed for Childhood Cancer research. The landscaper’s
plan is for “Lexi’s Lookout” to be filled with Jacaranda trees, English Lavender plants and violetcolored
ice plant surrounding a 12-year old Coastal Live Oak, marking Lexi’s 12 years of life.

Supporters may donate funds by dedicating a Jacaranda tree or English Lavender plant in
Lexi’s memory or in memory of a loved one who battled cancer. Donations of $300 per
Jacaranda Tree or $30 per English Lavender plant are being accepted through Elks Recreation.
Donations for the dessert reception may be dropped off Saturday morning at the Event Center
between 8-10AM through Gate 2. Volunteers are also being requested to assist with set-up,
parking and ushering at Lexi’s Celebration of Life Memorial. For donations or volunteer
assistance, please contact the Elks Recreation Office at 925-4125.
