The Santa Maria Police Department is pleased to announce an interactive neighborhood crime mapping program to its website, www.cityofsantamaria.org/police. The information provided is intended to promote community awareness and encourage the use of crime prevention measures.
Anyone with a computer can now go online to get information on crimes anywhere within the Santa Maria City Limits. The information provided reflects initial, unverified calls for service.
Through the use of this program, Santa Maria crime data is provided from the Police Department. This allows residents to view up to 180 days of crime data by various search parameters to include a date range, crime type, or distance from a specific address.
The results data are illustrated on a map and the various crimes are depicted by various icons, each containing general details of the incident. Residents may also develop queries specific to their own interests by using the filter and search options, and may also register to receive e-mail alert with crime information updates.

Questions may be directed to the Santa Maria Police Department at 928-3781 ext. 2304 during weekdays and ask for the Operations Lieutenant.
