Santa Maria Public Library

The Santa Maria Public Library is pleased to offer two movies as part of an adult summer reading program, “Read for the Win” which is a sports-themed program that begins on Saturday, June 11th and ends on Saturday, August 6th.  Individuals can register for the adult reading program at the Santa Maria Public Library or at any branch location in Orcutt, Los Alamos, Guadalupe, or Cuyama.

The first movie Pitch Perfect which is rated PG-13, will be screened at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 22nd in Shepard Hall. In the movie, arriving at her new college, Beca finds herself not right for any clique but somehow is muscled into one that she never would have picked on her own. When Beca leads this a cappella singing group out of their traditional arrangements and perfect harmonies into all-new mash-ups, they fight to climb their way to the top of college music competitions.

The Santa Maria Public Library is also pleased to offer the movie A League of Their Own which is rated PG. The film will be screened at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13th in Shepard Hall. In A League of Their Own, two sisters join the first female professional baseball league and struggle to help it succeed amidst their own growing rivalry.

Seating is limited and is offered on a first come, first served basis.

The Santa Maria Public Library is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Friday through Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The library is closed on Sunday.
