Lee Volker-Cox will be Valley Art Gallery’s next featured artist. His exhibit, “Central Coast Celebration” is a collection of images of his perspective of the central coast, including grape fields, cowboys, surfers, flowers, and butterflies. The exhibit will continue until August 8th.
A retired Air Force Colonel, motivational speaker, and graduate school instructor, Lee has taken pictures from the Arctic to the edge of Maui’s Haleakala Crater and points in between. Rarely without a camera, his 27 years in the Air Force provided countless opportunities to experience life in unique locals in North America and Europe. Lee has had numerous photo exhibitions, including 2 shows in Shepard Hall in the Santa Maria Public Library. His photos have been in several publications including The High Frontier, Dog Fancy, WikiMedia and the U.S. Federal News Service. He lives on the central coast with his wife, Michelle, and their Miniature Schnauzer, Benny.
An art reception of the exhibit and for new works from 35 local gallery artists will be Friday, June 17, from 5-7 PM. Refreshments will be served and there is no charge for the public. Valley Art Gallery is located at 1108 East Clark Ave St. 170 in the Oak Knolls South Shopping Center in Orcutt. There hours are Tuesday – Saturday 12-4 PM and Sunday 1-4 PM.
