At 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8th, the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Santa Maria River levee trail. The ceremony will be in recognition of designating the trail the “Tom Urbanske Multipurpose Trail.”
Mr. Urbanske is a former educator, City Councilmember, and County supervisor. He has dedicated his life to improving the quality of living in Northern Santa Barbara County and sits on many non-profit boards and commissions, including the Community Action Commission. In honor of his magnanimity, and in recognition of his contributions to the City of Santa Maria and its residents, the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department and Commission are pleased to commemorate his efforts with this eponymous appellation.
The ceremony will take place at the trail access point located at the intersection of Seaward and Carlotti drives. Light refreshments will be provided.
