To fulfill requests from patrons, the Santa Maria Public Library announced today that the Orcutt Branch Library will be open on Fridays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. beginning Friday, July 8th.  The added day of service will increase its total weekly hours from 32 to 36.

Over the last two years, the public has completed library surveys and patrons requested that the branch library open on Fridays.  A reconfiguration of staffing enables this additional day of service to be provided. The County contracts with the City of Santa Maria to provide library service in Orcutt.

The Orcutt Branch has an average of 550 visitors daily and circulates an average of 7,265 items monthly.  In addition to checking out materials, visitors use the library computers and databases, attend story time, use the onsite Wi-Fi, fax and copier machines, and read a wide variety of magazines and newspapers.

Current Orcutt Branch Library hours are Monday through Thursday, 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with Fridays from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. being added effective July 8th.

Questions may be directed to the Library’s administration office, 925-0994 ext. 2321.
