Hayward Lumber CEO Bill Hayward cuts the ceremonial ribbon to celebrate the opening of their new truss facility. Congratulations Hayward Lumber!

Hayward Lumber recently opened their new truss facility at their Santa Maria location. The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce helped the business celebrate this milestone and expansion with a ribbon cutting.

“It’s a culmination of many years of work to move our truss operations together with our lumber and engineered wood product operations,” said Rudi Lokkart, General Manager of Hayward Lumber Company & Truss in Santa Maria. “Historically we’ve operated on separate sites, and because of the flexibility and willingness of the City of Santa Maria we were able to bring all of our operations under one roof.”

City of Santa Maria Mayor Pro Tem Etta Waterfield signs the ceremonial ribbon.

Hayward Lumber is a family-owned, 4th generation company based out of Monterey, California. They service the central coast from Santa Barbara to Redwood City. With the latest addition, their Santa Maria location now produces roof trusses, floor packages and lumber packages that are distributed between the metropolitan areas along the coast.

Lokkart explained that Santa Maria was a great fit for their new truss facility.

IMG_0527“Santa Maria is centrally located, is a city that is open to new business and industrial use, and they have a railroad that will service us,” he said. “It’s an ideal location for our kind of operation.”
