The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce recently welcomed Blue Eyed Daisies to the Chamber with a ribbon cutting!
Blue Eyed Daisies is a a small town vintage marketplace that host monthly shows at Nipomo Creek Farms, located at 511 E. Tefft Street in Nipomo. Their vendors are primarily antiques, crafts and homemade items. There’s also live music, food and games for the kids, making the market a fun time for the whole family.
Company Owner Samantha Castillo started Blue Eyed Daisies because as someone who makes homemade items herself, she understood the difficulty in finding a place to display and sell her items while still being able to make a profit. She charages vendors a flat fee – $75 for a 10’x10′ booth – with no additional fees like many places will have when vendors want to consign.
“There are a lot of seasonal craft shows and things like that, but our venue offers a place for vendors to sell year round,” Castillo said. “I think its definitely something needed in our community – for both the vendors and those who enjoy attending craft and antique fairs.”
The market takes place once a month at Nipmo Creek Farms. They have been up and running for three months now, and have already doubled in size and have roughly 20 vendors now. They have also recently added live music and food vendors.
“It’s just a lot of fun,” Castillo said. “There’s a lot of variety and there’s games for the kids so it’s definitely family friendly. It’s free to get in and it’s just a great outlet to go, look around, support small businesses and have a good time.”
