(Santa Maria, CA) Sept 26, 2016– Local celebrities, dignitaries and the community all gathered on Thursday, September 22 to show their support and raise funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley (BGCSMV) at the 2016 Celebrity Waiter’s Night. Held at the Santa Maria Country Club, local celebrities including Mayor Alice Patino, Mayor Pro Tem Etta Waterfield, Jordan Cunningham and Justin Fareed waited on tables and donated their tips to BGCSMV.
The festivities were hosted by KCOY Morning Anchor Danny Max and Sunny Country DJ Jay Turner. Aera Energy, Bonipak, Rabobank, Woods Family Foundation and Henry Mayo Newhall Foundation sponsored the event. Local businesses including Halsell Builders, Santa Maria Sun, Heritage Oaks Bank, Red Dog Management and Searchlight Properties hosted tables and participated in the table-decorating contest. Guild Mortgage won the contest for their Glitzy Fall themed table. The event raised over $84,000 gross revenue with 100% of the profits to fund after school programming for kids in Santa Maria and Guadalupe. BGCSMV would like to thank Tom & Jane Martinez for hosting the event and all of the individuals and businesses that generously donated items for the live & silent auction.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Maria Valley currently provides programs for over 1,400 registered children ages 6 – 18 at 10 locations in Santa Maria and Guadalupe. An additional 6,900 children benefit from Club sponsored sports programming.
