Event is a guide to health and wellness and will provide tools for nutrition, cancer prevention, and quality of life

SANTA MARIA, September 14, 2016 –Marian Cancer Care at Mission Hope Cancer Center invites the community to attend a free health and wellness conference outlining an integrative plan to build a strong anti-cancer defense system of health and recurrence prevention.

The Health and Wellness Community Forum: Cancer Risk, Treatment, and Survivorship will take place on Saturday, September 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Mission Hope Cancer Center.  The event will include an interactive panel of expert multi-specialty physicians from Mission Hope Cancer Center including: Cheryl Decker, M.D., FACEP, Cancer Risk and Survivorship, Robert Dichmann, M.D, Medical Oncologist, Kevin Ferguson, M.D., Pathologist, Samuel B. Kieley, M.D., Urologic Oncologist, Christopher Lutman, M.D., Gynecologic Oncologist, and Monica Rocco, M.D., FACS, Breast Surgeon.  The forum will also feature renowned authors and cancer survivors Lise N. Alschuler, N.D., FABNO, and Karolyn a. Gazella, who co-wrote the book “The Definitive Guide to Thriving After Cancer” and are experts in integrative cancer prevention and treatment.

During the event, members of the public are invited to register with the National Bone Marrow Registry.  In less than 10 minutes and with a painless cheek swab, you have the ability to give the gift of life. Participants must be between the ages of 18 and 44.
