The City of Santa Maria is now requesting proposals from local agencies for the use of 2017-18 Community Development Block Grant Program and HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds for public service activities, capital projects and affordable housing projects. There are four mandatory application deadlines this year, the first of which is Tuesday, October 25th. Both of these Federal grant programs are administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Any individual, group or organization wishing to apply for 2017-18 funds must complete and submit a CDBG or HOME application form. Application packets may be obtained during regular business hours from the Special Projects Division office, City Hall, 110 South Pine Street, Room 107, Santa Maria. They may also be obtained by mail, e-mail or from the City’s website at: www.cityofsantamaria.org/specialprojects.
Included on the website are instructions for applying, a summary of the Federal Guidelines for Eligibility, and the City’s criteria. There is a capital project request for proposal form and four application forms.
New this year: Agencies interested in applying for CDBG Capital and HOME projects must submit a two-page proposals and budget by Tuesday, October 25th at 5:00 p.m.
All agencies applying for funding are required to attend a mandatory pre-application workshop on Thursday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at Shepard Hall in the Santa Maria Public Library, 421 South McClelland Street. At least one representative from each applicant must attend the workshop to be considered for funding.
The deadline for submittal of completed applications for CDBG Public Services is Friday, December 9th by 5:00 p.m. The deadline for submittal of completed applications for CDBG Capital and HOME funding is Friday, December 30th by 5:00 p.m.
