Vaqueras Owner Omar Sanchez is joined by family, friends and staff along with Mayor Alice Patino and Chamber Ambassadors to cut the ceremonial ribbon.

The Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce was thrilled to welcome recently opened Vaqueras Restaurant to the Chamber with a ribbon cutting.

The restaurant is located at 1555 S. Broadway in Santa Maria, and has been open for three months now.

Though Vaqueras is his first store front restaurant, Owner Omar Sanchez is no novice in the restaurant industry. He has become known in the local community from the food truck business he’s had for over 6 years.

“Our shrimp tacos is what everyone knows us for,” Sanchez said. “from what I can tell, no one else around here makes them like we do.”

In addition to shrimp tacos, Sanchez says they’ve also incorporated their famous shrimp into other dishes included quesadillas, burritos and nachos.

Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce & Visitor and Convention Bureau Membership Manager Cara Martinez presents the ceremonial ribbon to Vaqueras Owner Omar Sanchez.

Sanchez decided to open his restaurant after his food truck has been so successful, and their food has become so popular with the locals.

“We keep our menu small,” Sanchez said. “We keep our menu limited to our specialties – what people know us for, and our prices always reasonable. And it seems to be working, people seem to be enjoying the new place.”

The restaurant serves breakfast 7am to 11am, and lunch and dinner from 11am to 8pm. Sanchez hopes everyone will come check out Vaqueras in their new storefront. “We’re excited to be here now and I hope everyone comes out and tries our food – see what everyone is talking about, and let us know what you think.”

Congratulations to Vaqueras on their recent grand opening! We are thrilled to have this restaurant as a valued Chamber member. Learn more in the video below.
