We recently welcomed PETS Hospital to the Chamber with a ribbon cutting!

PETS Hospital is located at 4854 S. Bradley Rd., Ste 109 in Orcutt, and offers emergency care and specialty services for pets including surgery and cardiology. They opened in mid-January, and have been warmly welcomed by the Orcutt community.

“Orcutt is an incredibly close-knit and welcoming community,” PETS Hospital Owner and Veterinarian Dr. Joel Conn said. “We’ve had an amazing response from the community – just people going out of their way to bring us cookies and welcome us to the area.”

Conn says they chose Orcutt because of the need for an emergency pet services clinic on the Central Coast.

“There is actually not an emergency clinic that offers our services anywhere between Arroyo Grande and Santa Barbara,” Conn said. “So, you’re looking at about a 90 mile stretch and about 230,000 people that are unserved by 24/7 care for their pets.”

Conn says their main focus continues to be on customer care, and their goal at PETS Hospital is to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for their clients.

“We know that going to an emergency clinic is scary. It’s not ever somewhere you intend to go,” he explained. “So, we kind of see people at their worst. We see them when they are scared, they’re sleep deprived, they’re worried about their pet. So, anything we can do to make that an easier experience for people, we’re going to try to do.”

The facility chose a cool color scheme of blues and greens for its interior to create a calming environment. They also offer amenities like fresh coffee, donuts and cookies to make clients feel welcome and comfortable.

“When you walk in you smell cookies and coffee, you don’t smell disinfectant,” Conn said. “We know those little details can have a huge impact on customer experience, especially in such a stressful situation.”

For PETS Hospital, it all comes back to their customers and offering them the best experience possible in an often-stressful situation.

“The big thing is we are here when you need us,” Conn said. “We know our customers don’t always want to be here but if you need us, we’re here 24/7.”
