July 10, Creating IT Futures will launch two classes of its 8-week IT-Ready career program. Each class can accept up to 25 adults. No prior tech education or emphasis in math or science are needed by potential students. Applications are accepted through June 22 at

itechIT-Ready assesses, trains, certifies and places unemployed and under-employed adults in their first jobs in the tech field, which has a shortage of qualified workers. These two classes are underwritten by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, so each student will be given a stipend of $70 a day – a first for any IT-Ready program.
