Save the Date Monday Aug. 21 for a Solar Eclipse Viewing!

Come experience this rare celestial event at the Discovery Museum from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The eclipse will take place at 10:16 a.m., and a limited supply of complementary viewing glasses will be provided. You will be able to view an 80% solar eclipse—you won’t want to miss it!

Weekly Programs
All afternoon weekly programs now begin at 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 4: Fit Friday

How do you eat in zero gravity? Come find out in videos from the International Space Station and help plan an astronaut’s meal at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 5: Science Saturday

Join our mission to Mars by building your own space rover and learning about the solar system at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 6: Super Sunday

Capture the moon in all its glory by making beautiful foil moons from 12 to 4 p.m.

Aug. 8: Tuesday Tales

Phoebe is excited to see Mars and Saturn appear together in the sky, but will she be able to see them with all the city lights? Come find out at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in “Bright Sky, Starry City” by Uma Krishnaswami

Aug. 9: Preschool Patrol

The sky changes depending on the time of day. This “sky window” craft helps little ones identify different celestial objects in a fun, hands-on way! Create your own at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

Aug. 9: Brain Builders

Learn about chemistry and art through a magic, color-changing milk experiment at 3:30 p.m.

Aug. 10: Passport Thursday 

We view constellations as the Ancient Greeks did, but what do other cultures see in the stars? Listen to sky stories from different cultures and create your own with marshmallows at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
