San Luis Obispo, CALIFORNIA – Tickets are now on sale for the exciting 2017 La Guitarra California Festival. Cal Poly Arts presents the three-day event, filled with memorable sights and unforgettable sounds created by international Festival artists hailing from the United States, China, England, Argentina, France, Russia, Italy, Turkey, and Sweden.

The biennial Festival is celebrating its 18th year and will feature 14 globally-acclaimed artists in 10 concerts, five masterclasses, two free outdoor concerts, two guitar auctions, an exhibit of guitar-themed art, and a large cross-section of guitar makers displaying their instruments at an on-site Vendor Fair.

The 2017 Festival is dedicated to American maestro Christopher Parkening. The September 22 opening night ceremony begins with a 7 p.m. concert by Russian virtuoso Rovshan Mamedkuliev, followed by a video on Mr. Parkening’s life and career; Mr. Parkening will be presented with the La Guitarra Lifetime Achievement Award, followed by a recital by Mr. Parkening and renowned baritone, Jubilant Sykes. Nuvi Mehta will be Master of Ceremonies.
