In April, Nina Salto was suffering from fatigue and body aches for no apparent reason. She went to the doctor who was unable to identify the cause and who surmised her symptoms would eventually go away.  In July, Nina was admitted to French Hospital Medical Center in San Luis Obispo where numerous tests were conducted with no conclusive answers.

Nina was given Cancer medication because her symptoms were killing her white blood cells. She was then placed in a medically induced coma and flown to UCLA Medical Center for more tests and evaluation.  Doctors have unsuccessfully tried bringing her out of the coma, only to have her heart rate have spike.

Nina Salto is a wife and mother. Her husband Juan has stayed by her side during this long and excruciating unknown illness. They are parents to a two-year-old girl named Serenity who has been in the care of Juan and aunts and uncles since Nina’s hospitalization.

A GoFundMe has been created by Noah Winkles of New Life Painting. All money raised will be given to Juan and Nina to help their young family face the bills that come with Nina’s treatment as well as all the unanticipated costs that have come from this long hospital stay.
