Santa Maria Public Library and Branch Libraries
Will be Closed for Staff Training on August 31st

The Santa Maria Public Library and its four branches (Cuyama, Guadalupe, Los Alamos, and Orcutt) will be closed on Thursday, August 31st for staff training. The libraries will be closed the entire day to enable all staff to attend the important training session. Regular service at all branches will resume on Friday, September 1st.

The training will provide library staff with exposure to current strategies and practices that will enable them to better serve the library’s clientele. As usual, the library’s website will be available for access to online resources, item renewals and patron account information. Exterior book return drop boxes will be available and open at all locations. Library items may be renewed (if eligible for renewal) by phone by calling 1-800-354-9660.

Black Gold libraries in the greater area that will be open for service on Thursday, August 31st are as follows:

  • Arroyo Grande Library, 800 W. Branch, (805) 473-7161, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Lompoc Public Library, 501 E. North Avenue, (805) 875-8775, 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Nipomo Library, 918 W. Tefft Street, (805) 929-3994, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
